The Independence Day Of Sri Lanka.



 Sri Lanka got independence on 4th February 1948. Until then, Sri Lankans had 

been suffering under the British rule. Many national heroes sacrificed their lives to 

gain the independence. The independence day is a national holiday in Sri Lanka. It 

celebrated in a grand scale annually. This is the most important day for all the 

patriots.

to bring independence to our country. 




Sri Lanka had to face foreign invations for nearly 400 years. Sri Lanka had been a 

British colony from 1815to 1948. During this period our Sinhala heroes fought  

against the mighty British Empire. As a result of all these struggles, today we enjoy

the freedom. The people who suffered from the colonialism can understand the

value of freedom.
